Improving Emergency Response Capacities to Natural and Man-made Disasters in Small Communities across the Black Sea Basin Region, IMPACT+
Interreg VI-B NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme
Short Description
One of the most pressing challenges faced by countries in the Black Sea Basin region is their susceptibility to natural disasters and vulnerability to the impacts of climate change. These issues disproportionately affect small communities, which have limited resources and insufficient access to prevention, awareness, and training activities.
The IMPACT+ project aims to enhance the resilience of small communities in the Black Sea Basin region to emergency situations, whether caused by natural disasters or human-made crises. By promoting cross-border cooperation and implementing innovative solutions, the project contributes to risk reduction, climate change adaptation, and the improvement of rural communities' emergency response capacities.
The beneficiaries of the project include local populations, local public authorities, NGOs, and other initiative groups in the Black Sea Basin region. The project will enhance their awareness, preparedness, and capacity to handle emergency situations, reducing risks to their health, lives, and infrastructure. Moreover, the project will contribute to the sustainability of its outcomes by establishing enduring partnerships, signing cooperation agreements, and fostering cross-border cooperation even after the project's closure.
